SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – University of Utah students have designed energy-efficient, affordable housing units; all they need is the permission to build.
Design+Build Salt Lake is a newly formed partnership between the Uof U’s Architecture students, Habitat for Humanity, and Salt Lake City’s Housing and Neighborhood Development department.
Their first project subdivided a half-acre lot into three single family homes attached to a community garden and play ground, called the Montgomery Triplets. The lot is in the Poplar Grove neighborhood of Salt Lake City. The team expects to begin construction next summer.
